Officials from ASEAN countries visit Xiamen

A 22-member delegation was invited to visit Xiamen, Fujian province, from Aug 1 to 3 as part of the Fujian Seminar for ASEAN Government Officials and Sister Province/City Officers 2019.
The 22 government officials came from 18 countries, including Thailand, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Laos, Philippines, Singapore, the United States, Mexico, and Bulgaria.
The officials visited the Xiamen Urban Planning and Exhibition Hall to get an overall understanding of the city's history, current achievements and future development.
They were impressed by the city's robust high-tech industry after visiting the Xiamen Software Park and Shenzhouying Software Technology Co.
They also visited Gulangyu Island, a World Cultural Heritage site; Huandao road, one of the most beautiful roads in China; and Xiamen International Cruise Center and spoke highly of the city's cultural environment and landscape.
According to Kasit Sanipukdee, one of the visiting officials from Phuket Province, Thailand, the Thai province plans to attend the upcoming 2019 China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT), which takes place each September in Xiamen.
Held by Fujian's Foreign Affairs Office and the Fujian Fumin Foundation from July 21 to Aug 3, the Fujian Seminar for ASEAN Government Officials and Sister Province/City Officers 2019 aims to forge ties between China and ASEAN countries as well as other countries.
