Xiamen annual tourist card goes online

Xiamen in East China's Fujian province launched an electronic version of its annual tourist card on Aug 1, local media reported.
For those who already have an annual tourist card, they can connect an electronic card via the official WeChat account – lynk0592. The others can apply for a new electronic card through the WeChat account.
After linking an electronic card, users can easily perform online applications and top ups and make reservations for scenic spots among other functions.
The annual tourist card is an important measure by Xiamen government to benefit the public. The card is mainly issued to locals of Fujian province, Taiwan compatriots and permanent residents of Xiamen.
With the card, people can visit a total of 18 tourist attractions in Xiamen, including Xiamen Botanical Garden and the Kulangsu Gallery of Foreign Artefacts from the Palace Museum Collection.
As of July this year, the number of annual tourist cards issued had exceeded 400,000.
