A total of 27 senior high school students from the United States recently experienced traditional Chinese culture in Shangli Community, Xiamen, East China's Fujian province.

The students tried their hands at making sachets stuffed with wormwood herb and four-fruit soup, a popular delicacy in southern Fujian known for its sweet and refreshing taste.

When visiting the community, they also admired glove puppet shows and received framed shadow puppet figures from their Chinese counterparts.

The activity was sponsored by the neighborhood committee of Shangli community and the Confucius Institute of University of Delaware.
