People in Xiamen, East China's Fujian province, now can use Alipay, a mobile payment application by Alibaba, to pay for the city's bus, subway and bus rapid transit (BRT).

Here are some tips if you want to apply for an Alipay public transportation electronic card.

1. Open the Alipay app and enter "厦门地铁电子卡" (Xiamen subway electronic card) in the search bar.

2. Click the "同意协议并领卡" (agree to the terms of service and receive the card) at the bottom of the screen.

3. After receiving the card, the QR code appears. Use the QR code to take the bus, subway or BRT.

4. The electronic card can be found in the "Pocket" section of the Alipay home page.
