The construction of Xiamen's fishery base in Xiang'an district, which connects with Taiwan, is progressing steadily. It is now capable of docking a 5,000-ton ship, according to local media.
After completion, the fishery base will expand the sale of Taiwan's caught and farmed aquatic products in Chinese mainland and will form an aquatic product processing base which will greatly facilitate exchange and cooperation between Xiamen and Taiwan in related industries.
