A total of 170 city buses produced by Xiamen King Long United Automobile Industry Co Ltd, or King Long, were shipped to Mexico recently, marking the largest bus transaction between China and a Latin American country.
It was also the first time that King Long has done business with Mexico.
King Long entered the Latin American market as early as 2007. The company is recognized for its excellent product and has established close relations with many Latin American countries.
At present, there are nearly 30,000 King Long vehicles in Latin America.
"Despite the recession in the international passenger car market in 2019, King Long will continue to focus on quality and service in its expansion into the global market," said Xie Weiguo, overseas marketing director of King Long.
In the first half of this year, King Long exported 7,066 vehicles to 52 countries and regions, ranking first in China's bus industry; export sales revenue reached 1.236 billion yuan ($179.6 million), up 36 percent year-on-year.
King Long is a leading Chinese bus manufacturer headquartered in Xiamen, East China's Fujian province. Founded in 1988, it is focused mainly on developing, manufacturing and selling large-and-medium-sized buses and light vans.
