2019 king of tea competition wraps up in Xiamen

The spring 2019 king of tea competition wrapped up in Xiamen, Fujian province in July, with five winners crowned as "kings of tea".
The 11th annual event gathered participants bringing seven varieties of tea including Anxi Tie Guanyin, a variety of oolong tea, white tea and black tea.
In addition to the five "tea kings", after a two-day careful public review by an expert group, 12 competitors won gold medals, 22 won silver and 30 won bronze, while 45 were awarded a high quality prize.
Qiu Jiahai, vice-chairman of Xiamen Federation of Chamber of Commerce said that as China was the birthplace of tea, the competition attacted tea lovers from all over the country in a bid to jointly produce high quality tea and promote the development of tea culture in Xiamen.
