Xiamen in East China's Fujian province ranked No 1 among 2019 China's top 10 most attractive summer resorts in a recently released report, according to data released in July by the China Tourism Academy and Ctrip.com.

The temperature is climbing with summer here, so going for a tour to a summer resort is becoming a main consideration for tourists.

As a coastal city, Xiamen attracts numerous visitors from home and abroad each summer due to its beautiful landscape and pleasant climate.

Water-related entertainments, such as paddling in the sea and water-themed parks, are popular choices of travelers. Gulangyu Island, a World Cultural Heritage site, is the most renowned scenic spot in the city.

A person in charge of a water park said that with tourists had increased this summer and the number of visitors has surged 5percent year-on-year.

Travelers flocking to Xiamen also boost tourism in surrounding cities. A visitor surnamed Wang from Anhui province said that he had already spend two days in Xiamen on his self-guided tour, and he and his tourist partners will visit Zhangzhou, a Fujian city near Xiamen.
