Children appreciate Chinese characters at print museum

A print museum belonging to Xiamen Daily welcomed and entertained the little visitors from primary schools in Xiamen, Fujian province, July 11, local media reported.

A group of 100 primary school students followed their tour guide around the museum to trace the origin and evolution of Chinese characters and learn about the development of printing. Some of them were even taking notes to gain new knowledge about language.

The children's curiosity was aroused and they lined up to learn how to print on a newspaper press.

Xiamen Daily launched an excellent lecture on news editing, which also helped to improve the children's writing skills.

After experiencing the newspaper printing press, the young participants went onto the street and participated in a charity bazaar, sell copies of Xiamen Daily, with the proceeds of the sales to be donated to Xiamen Red Cross.
