The sound performance of the Maritime Silk Road Co is bringing in more global cooperation to Xiamen in East China's Fujian province, Xiamen Daily reported on July 6.

In the first half of 2019, Xiamen port recorded a total of 593 voyages along its 43 Maritime Silk Road shipping routines. The cargo throughput amounted to 440,200 standard containers, up 12.33 percent year-on-year.

Meanwhile, with 14 newly established Maritime Silk Road shipping routines, Xiamen port now runs 148 cargo routes to 139 ports in 43 countries and regions.

Founded by Xiamen Port Holding Group Co and managed by its subsidiary, Maritime Silk Road Co is China's first Belt and Road international logistics brand and service platform engaged in the shipping business.

The platform has absorbed over 100 new members since 2019.

The new members include some of the biggest international shipping companies, top 500 enterprises, industry-leading manufacturers, and the most authentic R&D institutions, said a spokesman for the Maritime Silk Road Co.

The success of the Maritime Silk Road Co is owed to Xiamen port's continuous efforts in optimizing its business environment.

In June, Xiamen port connected the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road with a multimodal transport terminal which guarantees improved logistics services and reduced costs.
