German artist inspires art lovers in Xiamen

A female artist - Dr. Gabriele Lohberg who is president of the European Academy of Fine Arts in Germany, visited Aotou, a beautiful fishing village in Xiang'an district of Xiamen, East China's Fujian province, July 5 and gave a wonderful lecture, local media reported.
The president of the art school in the German city of Trier, Xiamen's 15th sister city and also the birthplace of Karl Marx, spoke about the influence of German artists on modern European art over more than half a century to an audience if about 50 people.
The lecture, illustrated with photographs, started with the female artist explaining her the environment of her childhood and youth, then focused on the development of German artists. The talk was warmly received by the attendees.
One of the art lovers, surnamed Zhang, was fascinated by German art when she studied in Europe and said that participating in this lecture was a rare opportunity.
The female artist said she was very impressed by the art atmosphere in Aotou, the small, beautiful fishing village, and felt a sense of kinship with the artworks there. She was welcomed by the local authorities and highly praised for her contribution to the exchange and communication of art which she brought to the coastal city.
