A delegation of Xiamen Marathon organizing committee representatives participated in the Tianshan Marathon in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region June 30.

The coastal city of Xiamen in Fujian province has staged its annual marathon since 2003 and was honored the title of "City of Marathon" by the Chinese Athletics Association in 2018.

Xiamen municipal government has provided construction aid in recent years to Jimsar county in Xinjiang, and the county responded by inviting the Xiamen marathon organizing committee to take part in an upcoming marathon in Tianshan.

Without any hesitation, Xiamen's delegation of nine experienced marathon organizers prepared to leave for Jimsar.

A framework agreement on friendly cooperation in marathon events was signed at two seminars on June 29 and 30.

On the game site on June 30, roughly 5,000 marathon enthusiasts took part in the Tianshan Marathon, and the representatives from Xiamen, dressed in uniforms bearing the logos of both the Tianshan and Xiamen marathons, were free to enjoy the local event by running on the race circuit.
