Cross-Straits art exchange exhibition opens in Xiamen

A cross-Straits art exchange exhibition kicked off at Xiamen International Conference and Exhibition Center on June 28, local media reported.
A collection of 228 paintings and calligraphy works by 156 artists from both sides of the Taiwan Straits were on display.
Wu Tun-i and Tseng Yung-ch'üan, chairman and vice-chairman of the Kuomintang party, congratulated the exhibition on its success.
The show, running from June 28 to July 1, established three exhibition zones, one of which is showcasing more than 160 artworks by 100 children aged 5 to 12 from Xiamen, Jinmen and Penghu.
Lü Yü-huan, an artist from Taiwan, said that the cross-Straits art exchange exhibition will promote cultural exchange on both sides of the Straits.
