An important part of the 2019 Straits Forum -- the 11th Straits Film and Television Season – is set to start rolling in Xiamen, in Fujian province on June 16.

The event consists of an awards ceremony, a micro film exhibition for cross-Straits youth, and an electronic sports launch ceremony -- all with the aim of promoting exchanges and cooperation between the two sides of the Taiwan Straits in the film and television industry.

According to the organizers, the awards ceremony will elect the most popular films and TV series from Chinese mainland and Taiwan.

The gathering of material for the micro film exhibition started on March 15. A total of 657 works were collected, including 122 from Taiwan.

The 2019 Straits Forum kicks off in Xiamen on June 15. Co-sponsored by over 80 units and social organizations across the Taiwan Straits, the one-week forum will consist of more than 60 activities.
