Han Jingyi, vice-mayor of Xiamen in East China's Fujian province, was invited to attend the reception to celebrate the 121st anniversary of the independence of the Republic of the Philippines on June 11.
Han congratulated Philippines on its 121st anniversary of independence and introduced the bilateral trade between Xiamen and Philippines in 2018.
He welcomed more Filipino entrepreneurs to start businesses in Xiamen and expected to cooperate with the consulate general of the Philippines in Xiamen to strengthen the two places' exchanges and cooperation in various fieds.
Philippines is an archipelago nation composed of more than 7,600 islands with many UNESCO World Heritage sites. As early as 1984, Xiamen established a sister-city relation with the country's Cebu and since then, the two cities have conducted exchanges in the fields of trade, education and art.
