The ever-popular ferry route between Xiamen in Fujian province and Taiwan's Jinmen county is expected to receive a large increase in the number of visitors during the upcoming Dragon Boat Festival - or Duanwu Festival holiday - on June 7-9.

With the new cutting-edge facility at Xiamen's Wutong Ferry Terminal having been brought into operation, utilizing state-of-art face recognition and other technology to process passengers, it now takes only 30 minutes from Wutong to Jinmen - making it much easier for cross-Straits tourists.

It is estimated that the passenger flow during the three-day holiday will surge to 23,500.

In order to ensure smooth customs clearance for entry and exits during the holiday,  immigration at Wutong Ferry Terminal will open all inspection stations and guide passengers to use its self-clearance system to improve port capacity and efficiency.
