The 2019 China Superb 9-Hole Golf Tournament & the 6th Xiamen Golf Open will be held at the Xiamen Orient Golf Country Club from June 14 to 16, with amateur golf teams from across Fujian province competing with each other. 

The news came from a press conference held in Xiamen on June 4. 

The tournament for amateur golf teams in Xiamen started in 2014, the first highest-level amateur golf competition across Fujian at a season scale. It continues to provide a high-level competitive arena for golfers from Fujian, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan. 

Since 2018, the Xiamen Zhongxian Sports Culture Communications Co has carried out research on top global golf events and has tried to integrate advanced tournament systems such as the UK Open Championship, the Ryder Cup and the Belgium Match Play, and to improve the golfers' and audience's experience. 

Based on Chinese golfers' preferences, the company is trying to upgrade the Xiamen Open while at the same time preserving its own advantages.

The tournament, lasting three days, has two rounds and six matches in total, including an 18-hole match play and the superb 9-hole. Turning the "season" system into the "match" system this year will largely reduce the entry cost and lower the threshold for participants. 

The new compound tournament system will increase the challenge as well as the enjoyment of the game, including the four-player-four-ball stroke play in preliminary heats, the four-player-four-ball match play, the four-player-two-ball match play and the single player match play in the official round. 

This year's tournament will be held by the Xiamen Zhongxian Sports Culture Communications Co, under the direction of Fujian Golf Association and Xiamen Golf Association. Many domestic and foreign brands are sponsoring the event, including Singleton Whisky and the Hilton Hotel at the Paragon Center in Xiamen.
