Children from over 100 families representing more than 10 countries celebrated International Children's Day on June 1 in Aotou, a beautiful fishing village in Xiang'an district of Xiamen, East China's Fujian province.
The children drew pictures on six giant canvases (100 meters in length, 22 meters in width) showcasing rural renovation in Xiang'an.
"I fell in love with this place on my first visit," said Alice, a girl from the United Kingdom, who painted a rainbow bridge to symbolize the friendship between Alice and her new Chinese friend.
Chen Huiying, a well-known returned overseas Chinese author, praised Aotou as "one of the most beautiful villages and a rural place well-known for its culture and creativity" at the activity.
