Xiamen in East China's Fujian province ranked second among 169 major cities in China in terms of air quality in 2018, according to a report by the city's environmental sanitation bureau on June 3.

Last year, Xiamen recorded 171 days with excellent air quality and 189 days with fine air quality, accounting for 98.6 percent of the year.

In 2018, Xiamen ranked first in the country in terms of ecological civilization.

The city's Siming district was listed as a national ecological civilization construction demonstration zone.
