An annual food festival was held from May 11-12 at Guanren Global Community in Xiamen, East China's Fujian province, entertaining 10,000 participants from at home and abroad, local media reported.

The event treated visitors to authentic delicacies from all over the world, including gelato from Italy, shredded pancakes from Mexico and garlic butter snails from France.

Interactive games and other activities were also put on during the two-day festival.

Guanren launched its first food carnival in 2017 and the event this year saw an expansion in both size and scale.

The number of participating restaurants soared 25 percent over the previous year and many "online celebrity"restaurants nearby also took part in the carnival.

The food festival has not only gained popularity in Guanren but has also become popular among all Xiamen residents.
