Carol Miller, the US representative for West Virginia's 3rd congressional district, led a delegation of US congressmen to Xiamen, East China's Fujian province, from May 28 to 30.

Han Jingyi, vice-mayor of Xiamen, briefed them on the city's economic and social development at a meeting on May 29.

Han said that Xiamen has established sister-city relations with 20 cities in other countries, including Baltimore in the US, and has cooperated with many of these cities.

Xiamen also has a strong economic relationship with the US—the city's largest trading partner, added Han.

There are broad economic opportunities for cooperation between Xiamen and the US and Han hopes to see more Americans visit or start a business in the city. Han hopes that the delegation will take this opportunity to better understand Xiamen.

Miller believes that Xiamen is a beautiful city with scenery and a rich cultural.

She said that it is her first time to visit China, and she expected to learn more about the country so as to promote practical cooperation between the two countries.

During their stay in Xiamen, they visited Xiamen Port, Xiamen International Cruise Center, Xiamen University and Gulangyu Island, a traffic-free world cultural heritage site featuring music and romance.
