Xiamen in East China's Fujian province began selecting its top 100 companies on May 30, local media reported.
The sponsor of the list, Xiamen Enterprises and Entrepreneurs Association (XEEA), will sort candidate companies according to their sales revenue and other economic indicators from highest to lowest.
Applicants for the top 100 Xiamen companies this year should have a sales revenue of more than 800 million yuan ($103.89 million), while applicants for the top 10 manufacturers and enterprises in the service industry should total at least 3 billion yuan.
In order to promote the innovative transformation and upgrading of local companies, the XEEA launched lists of the top 10 specialized, refined, and unique companies in emerging industries as well as the top 10 green companies in 2017.
All five lists are expected to be announced in early August.
