Corals from Gulangyu, an island off the coast of Xiamen in East China’s Fujian province, will debut at the Fujian pavilion at the 2019 Beijing International Horticultural Exhibition from July 26 to Sept 10, local media reported.
Gulangyu corals, together with columnar cacti, will be used to build an underwater coral world adorned with images of fish, crab, shells, conch, and other marine creatures under a gorgeous light.
Bugainvillea speetabilis, the city flower of Xiamen, is also expected to embellish the Fujian pavilion as a symbol of the garden city.
