The technological base of the Xiamen Municipal Bureau of Market Regulation, the first public technological service platform for infrastructure in Xiamen, East China's Fujian province, was inaugurated on May 28, local media reported.

The newly-inaugurated base will play a vital role in Xiamen's economic, social and scientific development based on key projects being carried out by the National Quality Supervision Center, National Industry Measurement and Testing Center and major labs in China.

In addition, the technological base is aimed at improving the competence of local companies by offering them technological services in standards establishment, finished product inspection, product research and safety production.

Xiamen has also nearly completed a public technological service platform for inspection and testing, which adapts to social and economic development as well as industrial structure.

The city is home to two national inspection centers for light-emitting diodes and factory vehicles as well as a national research base for Taiwan standards.

Xiamen is also prepared to establish a national logistics packaging quality control center and a national measurement and testing center for the flat panel display industry.
