The 23th World Semiconductor Council (WSC) was held in Xiamen, East China's Fujian province from May 21 to May 24, local media reported.
The event brought together the heads of the main semiconductor companies and semiconductor industry associations in the world to discuss issues of concern to the global semiconductor industry.
The WSC,composed of semiconductor insiders all over the world, is aimed at promoting international cooperation in the semiconductor sector in order to facilitate the healthy growth of the industry from a long-term, global perspective.
WSC is held in turns by its member countries or regions each year and Xiamen is the third city in China to host the meeting after Beijing and Hangzhou.
Xiamen has focused on the development of the integrated circuit industry for the past few years, and issued relevant policies to promote the whole industry. As a result, the integrated circuit industry chain of designing, manufacturing, seal test, material and application has taken shape in the city.
The Xiamen Torch Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone ranks fifth in terms of the scale of integrated circuit industry nationwide and, as one of the top 10 excellent integrated circuit industrial parks in China, has gathered more than 200 relevant enterprises.
