The federation of trade unions of Xiamen in East China's Fujian province plans to establish 100 lounges in 2019 for the wellbeing of outdoor laborers, local media reported.

The federation will coordinate relevant government departments, social organizations, and kind-hearted people to set up the lounges at outlets, chain stores and other public places in the city.

Microwave ovens, umbrellas, first-aid kits, books, free WiFi and cellphone chargers will be available in the lounges.

Sanitation workers, traffic police, deliverymen, grid maintenance workers, ride-hailing drivers and other outdoor workers are free to enjoy the facilities.

The lounges are great for outdoor workers because they offers a place to cool down in the summer and keep warm in the winter, said Wu Qingsong, a sanitation worker.

Xiamen also launched a cellphone application named "Labor's Harbor" which allows outdoor workers in the city to locate the lounge nearest to them.
