The 2019 Art Amoy Expo for contemporary art will take place in Xiamen, East China's Fujian province from June 6 to 9, according to a press conference held on May 23.

The Art Amoy Expo has been held for four years. This year the expo will be separated into two seasons for the first time, a spring expo focusing on contemporary art and an autumn expo focusing on classic art.

A total of 75 art institutions from 11 countries and regions including France, Japan, South Korea and Italy were invited to the expo, among which 12 are internationally renowned galleries highly recognized within the industry.

Art works from some big names in contemporary art, such as Yayoi Kusama, will be on display at the expo.

Additionally, this year's expo intends to provide more opportunities for local artists through special activities, such as an oil painting themed sketching activity and exhibition in Xiamen's Haicang district and a contemporary ink painting themed exhibition in Siming district.
