The world's largest liquefied natural gas-fueled ro-ro (roll-on roll-off) ship, built by Xiamen Shipbuilding Industry Co, successfully undocked on May 22.
The ship is 199.9 meters long, 38 meters wide and 14.8 meters high, with a designed draft of 8.65 meters. It is powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG) stored in two huge LNG tanks in the cargo area, according to the shipbuilding company.
The ship has made many breakthroughs in terms of profile design, subdivision, structural weight, system propulsion and loading technologies to improve speeds and satisfy strict emission requirements.
Additionally, a total of 7,500 parking spaces are offered on the ship's 13 automobile decks, nine of which are fixed while the rest are removable.
In addition to ordinary vehicles such as trucks, cars and trailers, the ship can also accommodate hydrogen-fueled new energy vehicles.
The ship is one of two ships built by Xiamen Shipbuilding Industry Co for Siem Car Carriers, a leading global ocean transport company for autos, ro-ro vessels and bulk cargo carriers.
