Development foundation:

Xiamen is one of China's regions with rapid development of the TFT liquid crystal display (LCD) industry. Its industrial scale ranks sixth in the country and is the only pilot city with a national optoelectronic display industrial cluster. The city also has the largest R&D and production base of touch screen modules in the world.

Xiamen's panel display industry reached an output value of 131.5 billion yuan in 2018, forming a complete industrial chain layout.

The industry covers such fields as glass substrate, panels, modules, LCDs and complete machines, as well as projects such as China's first 5.5 and 6 generation low-temperature polycrystalline silicon thin film transistor LCD device and color filter membrane production line by Tianma Microelectronics Co Ltd and the 8.5 generation LCD glass substrates by Nippon Electric Glass Co Ltd.

Representative enterprises include Tianma Microelectronics, Nippon Electric Glass, AU Optronics, Darwin Precisions Corporation, Admiral Overseas Corporation, TPK Holding and HON-Flex.

Development priorities:

·Micro-LED, LTPS, OLED, laser, flexible display device, 3D display product and other new displays.

·Optoelectronic devices, display driver chips, new electromechanical components, high-density printed circuit boards, flexible circuit boards and other new electronic components.

·Glass substrate, filter, polarizer, ITO and substitute materials, brightness enhancement film, diffusion film, reflective film target material and other supporting core materials and key components.
