A job fair for the Taiwan enterprises in Xiamen, Fujian province, organized by the city's Taiwan Businessmen's Association (TBA), will take place in the international convention center in Kaohsiung, Taiwan on May 18.
The job fair will provide a total of 2,000 jobs at more than 40 enterprises, covering high-tech manufacturing, logistics, services and other industries.
The TBA has been organizing a series of promotion campaigns in many colleges and universities in Taiwan since May 13 to attract more graduates.
Besides young people, middle-aged groups with relatively stable techniques, capital and family are also what Taiwan enterprises need, according to Wu Jiaying, chairman of Xiamen's TBA.
"At present, the southern part of Taiwan has a high unemployment rate, and Xiamen happens to need a large number of talents for the Taiwan enterprises in the city," said Wu.
Compared with other cities in China, Xiamen has more advantages in attracting Taiwan talents, as the city and Taiwan share similar cultural backgrounds and the transportation between them is convenient.
Xiamen's TBA also plans to organize another job fair in Taiwan's Taipei in November this year.
