Xiamen, with Xiamen North Railway Station, Xiamen Railway Station and Xiamen Gaoqi Railway Station, is the land transportation hub of southern Fujian province. Xiamen Island is connected to the mainland by a long dyke allowing through trains to Xiamen city. Xiamen Railway Station is located at the intersection of Xiahe Road and Hudong Road, and is on many bus routes. From the station, going westward along Xiahe Road, you arrive at the ferry dock where you can take a ferry to Gulangyu Islet. The station provides passengers with through train service to Beijing, Shanghai, Nanjing, Hangzhou, Hefei, Nanchang, Yingtan, Xi'an, Chongqing, and other destinations.

Xiamen North Railway Station

In operation since April 2010, Xiamen North Railway Station is 13 kilometers from Gaoqi International Airport, 23 km from Xiamen Railway Station, and 12 km from Gaoqi Railway Station. It is an important transportation hub which connects with the Fuxia (Fuzhou - Xiamen) line, Xiashen (Xiamen - Shenzhen) line, and Xialong (Longyan - Xiamen) line. The station operates bullet trains only. At present, its trains run to Beijing, Shanghai, Fuzhou, Wuhan, Chongqing, Nanjing, Shenzhen and other cities.

There are more than ten ticket windows in the ticket office as well as twenty self service ticket machines and ten ticket collecting machines. There is a main waiting room of about 10,000 square meters, a 1,500 square meter waiting room for teams, and a 1,500 square meter one for mothers with babies and the disabled.

A luggage storage service is available in the station square. The price depends on the size of the luggage, but it wouldn't exceed 10 yuan for each piece per day. Besides, the Wal-Mart in the station has free lockers.

Xiamen Railway Station

Xiamen Railway Station is 10 km from Gaoqi International Airport, 23 km from North Railway Station and 7 km from Nanputuo Temple. First opened in 1957, it underwent major reconstruction and expansion in March 2014 and was put into service again on Feb 4, 2015. 

Xiamen station is one of the key stops on the national "four-vertical and four-horizontal" bullet train networks. Fuzhou-Xiamen Railway, Xiamen-Shenzhen Railway, Longyan-Xiamen Railway and Yingtan-Xiamen Railway all originate there.

Xiamen Gaoqi Railway Station

Xiamen Gaoqi station, located in Huli District, Xiamen, was built in 1956. It is 685 km away from Yingtan station and nine kilometers away from Xiamen station. It is a second-class station now.

Gaoqi Station is a single-layer station with a total construction area of 1,300 square meters, three platforms and six arrival-departure tracks. It has a maximum capacity of 200 passengers per hour.
