Xiamen Donghai Polytechnic Institute, located at Wuxian town, Tongan district, Xiamen, is a full-time vocational school for higher education that is capable of issuing a college degree recognized by the Ministry of Education. 

The institute is wholly owned by Quanshun Group, one of China's top 100 real estate developers. The group is trying out a new school-running model in which the school and enterprise authorities will co-run the institute as well as its modern apprentice system. The school and the enterprise work together on recruitment, education, employment and mutual development.

To advance its international exchange and cooperation, the institute set up an international school in December 2017, and built partnerships with South Korea's Daegu University, Sangmyung University, Hosan University and the Wesleyan University in the United States.. 

The school's international education department now has multiple majors, including international commerce, auto engineering, preschool education, and nursing and rehabilitation. It is expected to cultivate outstanding students with a formal academic education, vocational skills and international vision. It brings in high-quality courses and teaching materials from abroad, and sets up small classes to strengthen practical training in the hope of cultivating top students.
