Founded in September 2003, Xiamen Kangqiao Foreign Language Primary School is a private school. A parent committee has also been established to be part of the school's daily event and assist teachers' work.

Fifty percent of the students at school are from Taiwan island and 11 other countries and regions and forty percent of the teachers are seniors with abundant teaching experience.

The school has special classrooms for painting, music, computer, reading, dancing and science and it also has its own band consisting of the school's music lovers.
