A seminar discussing China-Singapore cooperative strategy on membrane technology was held at the School of Economics of Xiamen University in East China's Fujian province, on April 9.

Participants discussed cooperation between the two countries in the education and training of membrane technology as well as the construction plan for a China-Singapore membrane technology park.

Membrane technology, as an advanced technology with great development potential and a wide range of real-world applications, is a driving force behind the development of science and technology and the transformation of industry in Xiamen.

Xiamen has been paying close attention to the membrane industry since 1999. The city has gradually developed into a world-renowned hub of membrane technology.

"Xiamen has a strong economic foundation, and scientific resources in line with international standards. Through this cooperation, it will be possible to become a true international hub for the membrane industry," said Hong Wanjin, director of the Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology in Singapore.

The seminar was jointly organized by Xiamen Membrane Industry Association and Xiamen University Alumni Association (Singapore).
